These Crispy Homemade Teff Crackers combine the nutty flavor of teff flour with the savory richness of mushrooms for a crunchy snack that’s both simple and satisfying. Perfect on their own or paired with dips, they’re a healthy alternative to store-bought crackers and surprisingly easy to bake at home.

INGREDIENTS

1 cup teff flour

½ cup finely chopped cooked mushrooms (button or cremini)

2 tbsp olive oil

½ tsp sea salt

½ tsp garlic powder (optional)

¼ cup water (plus more if needed)

Fresh herbs (like thyme or rosemary), finely chopped (optional)

Method

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a mixing bowl, combine teff flour, mushrooms, salt, and garlic powder (if using).

Stir in olive oil and gradually add water until a dough forms—smooth but not sticky.

Roll out the dough thinly between two sheets of parchment paper.

Remove the top sheet, cut the dough into squares or shapes with a knife or pizza cutter.

Transfer to the prepared baking sheet and bake for 18–20 minutes, or until crisp and golden at the edges.

Allow to cool completely before serving.
